Dubai: Over 1 million visitors in one week and 13.5 million in total at Expo 2020
Expo 2020 Dubai has announced that the number of weekly visits has exceeded one million, with less than 45 days remaining until the curtain is lifted on the international event.
The total number of visits jumped to 13,457,400 by the end of Monday, and over 121 million virtual visits.
Among the most prominent events that Expo 2020 Dubai witnessed last week was the United Kingdom National Day, which was held on February 10th. It was also attended by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.
The Philippines celebrated its National Day the next day, with a concert at the Jubilee Park for the Filipino-American pop icon Bamboo, along with a cultural show called “Waves of the Soul”, depicting the 4,000-year history of the Filipino people.
Singer-songwriter and Grammy Award nominee Black Coffey showcased his skills to visitors at the Dubai Exhibition Center. The rock band Thaikkudam Bridge and Bollywood star Ranbir Kapur attracted thousands of fans who filled the square in front of the Jubilee podium last weekend.
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science, on 11 February, brought together women scientists to examine the mechanism by which gender equality and universal access in science, technology, engineering and mathematics can be guaranteed.
The number of virtual visits to Expo 2020 to Dubai reached more than 121 million, but this number is expected to climb further thanks to the music concert of the Coldplay, which everyone is expecting on Tuesday evening.
Nearly 10,000 tickets were allocated to attend the event from the interior and exterior gardens of Al-Wasl Square, along with more than 4,000 tickets to attend from the Dubai Exhibition Center square. Additional external screens are available throughout Expo 2020, according to the Emirates News Agency.
