Egypt: Father Dies Trying to Save His Family from Fire

In a tragic incident, a father lost his life while attempting to save his family from a massive fire that broke out in a car garage within a residential building and spread to his apartment in the “Hadayeq Al-Ahram” district of Giza, Egypt.

The fire resulted in injuries to eight people from different families and completely burned a car inside the garage.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim lived on the first floor above the garage where the fire started. He was surprised to see the flames extending towards the usual entrance of the apartment, so he went up to his family from the back entrance.

He began rescuing his family members from the fire that engulfed the apartment’s contents by getting them out through the window one by one. However, he slipped and fell, hitting the ground and dying instantly.

The civil protection forces controlled the fire, and the forensic lab was called by the authorities to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
