Iran invests in funding weapons and military technologies for its affiliates in the region

 

A new mission is unfolding for Shiite militias loyal to Iran in the region, as they begin an ongoing task related to securing the visits to holy Shiite shrines throughout the year. in the context of protecting their economic interests.

Iranian Movements

The commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Ismail Qaani, visited Syria and oversaw maneuvers by Iran-affiliated forces. along with joint exercises with the Syrian army.

Qaani discussed with senior Syrian officials ways to address the military. and security challenges facing Syria. His visit comes amid Israel’s intensification of attacks on Iranian sites on Syrian territory and the escalating tensions between Israel and Tehran-backed Palestinian factions. according to a report by “Roaya” network.

Before heading to Syria, Qaani visited Lebanon and met with Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah. Tehran seeks to establish a security company comprising fighters from Iraq. Lebanon, and Syria, overseen by Iran. The aim is to protect Chinese companies operating in Baghdad and Washington.

Iran’s Proxies

Dr. Mohammad Rabi’ Al-Dehi, an expert on Iranian affairs, says that Iran‘s primary goal today is to try to break the economic sanctions blockade and secure significant funds for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). its foreign agents from Hezbollah to the Houthi militia. and other Shiite militias in the region. This is achieved through underground economies and shadow trade routes.

He added that Iran is investing these returns in financing weapons and military technologies for its proxies in the region. Iran is also mobilizing its military arms beyond its borders to magnify its expansionist project aimed at undermining the authority .and stability of the states in the region.

Unfortunately, actions against Iran are usually reassessed not due to the major threats in the region or the global security threat through its terrorist arms.
