Foul Smell Forces Plane to Evacuate All Passengers
A strong foul smell forced a plane to evacuate all its passengers, totaling 226.
The plane was about to take off from Charlotte-Douglas Airport in Florida, USA, on Wednesday evening when the smell permeated throughout the aircraft.
Evacuation slides and bridges were used to evacuate all passengers and crew, and during this operation, one passenger was injured and required medical intervention.
Passengers on the plane said it all started with announcements followed by lights flashing to announce “evacuation now.”
According to the British newspaper Metro, Frontier Airlines, the owner of the aircraft, announced that it would provide all passengers with $200 vouchers for future flights, as well as hotel accommodation.
An airline spokesperson apologized to the passengers, stating that an investigation would be opened into the incident.
According to preliminary reports, no smoke or fire was observed.
However, the company confirmed that it would conduct investigations to determine the source of the smell and would inform federal authorities.
