Gargash on the Bahrain-Qatar meeting: Gulf and Arab solidarity rings a guarantee for the region
Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, welcomed the meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Bahrain and Qatar and their agreement on mechanisms and procedures to achieve the World Summit Vision.
Gargash added, in a tweet, “The challenges of stability and prosperity in the coming decades are based on coordination, cooperation and collective action.”
“The links of Gulf and Arab solidarity and regional cooperation are a guarantee for the region and its people,” he said.
On Tuesday, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Riyadh between delegations from Bahrain and the State of Qatar to end the outstanding issues between the two countries.
Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani headed the Bahraini delegation, while Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani headed Qatar’s delegation, the Bahrain News Agency reported.
The meeting discussed the mechanisms and procedures necessary to launch the talks at the level of the bilateral committees, according to the “Declaration of Justice” issued by the “Al-Ula Summit” in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on January 5, 2021, to end the special files that are pending between them.
The two sides also stressed the importance of work and cooperation between the two brotherly countries in order to strengthen fraternal relations and achieve the aspirations of their peoples for security, stability and development, and support the process of joint action of the GCC.
