Ghannouchi suggested a solution to resolve constitutional oath Crisis
Tunisian parliament Speaker, Rached Ghannouchi, has suggested an initiative aiming to resolve the political crisis in the country. He actually proposed holding an urgent tripartite gathering with President Kais Saied and Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi as soon as possible to overcome the constitutional oath crisis.
Rached Ghannouchi also appealed Saied to meet heads of the many sides in the country to discuss ideas and advice about the situation and the necessary decisions, amid the economic, social, and health crises.
On his part, Spokesman of Ennahda Movement, Fathi al-Ayadi, stated that Ghannouchi directed a letter to the President requesting him to reassure Tunisians and the world.
The letter contain: Despite the differences among Tunisian political figures and the growing incitement rhetoric, Tunisia remains a country with trustful institutions, and it needs to provide medicine, food, work and security for its people, as well as ensure calm, develop a spirit of solidarity and broaden the circle of national unity.
Otherwise, a group of opposition parties declared their backing for the efforts by national organizations that wanting to eliminate the dispute between Saied and Mechichi. They also affirmed that the aim of these efforts is to put practical suggestions that would allow the country to resolve its crisis,
Furthermore, the leaderships of the Republican Party, the People’s Movement, the Democratic Forum for Labor and Liberties party, and the Democratic Current party saw that their gatherings are an attempt to determine tools to get out from the multi-faceted crisis that Tunisia lived. In this context, Secretary-General of the Republican Party Essam al-Shabbi affirmed that they would try to call for a solution to the political crisis.
Besides, the Republican Party has started consulting with the General Labor Union about its role, particularly after appealing for a national dialogue, proposing its initiative to the head of state, and offering details about the Panel of the Wise and Mediators that would head the dialogue sessions.
As a comment on the steps taken to dissolve the differences between the two heads of the executive authority, analyst Jamel Arfaoui informed Asharq Al-Awsat that it won’t be an easy task. He indicate the challenges facing the gathering between Mechichi and Saied and the escalation in their political positions and their unwillingness to settlement. He also affirmed that the two have wanted to complicate the crisis from the beginning and have had no intention to resolve their differences.
