This marks Harry’s second visit to Ukraine this year, following his April trip to Lviv, where he toured a center for injured servicemen.
Harry served ten years in the British Army before founding the Invictus Games Foundation, a charity that runs an international sporting event for service members injured in combat.
Speaking to The Guardian aboard an overnight train to Kyiv, Harry said: “We cannot stop the war, but what we can do is everything in our power to support the recovery process.”

He explained that he had received an invitation from the Ukrainian government to visit the capital, and that he obtained clearance from both the British government and his wife before traveling.
The trip comes after a four-day stay in the United Kingdom, from his home in California, where he lives with his wife Meghan and their two children.
Since stepping down from his royal title in 2020, Harry’s relationship with his father has been strained, following his public criticism of the royal family. Yet in a sign of thawing ties, the two held their first meeting in twenty months on Wednesday.
