Hemetti Threatens the Army and the Muslim Brotherhood

The commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemetti,” issued new threats to escalate the situation on the ground, stating that they have numerous options that can be implemented whenever necessary, against the army and the Islamic movement.

Hemetti said: “We will not allow a mere handful of terrified generals to control the fate of our people, and we will have many options that we will implement whenever it becomes necessary,” according to the Al-Taghyeer newspaper.

In a post on the (X) platform, he asserted that it has become abundantly clear that Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his clique lack any real commitment to negotiation or to working for Sudan’s future or alleviating the suffering of its people, who are facing great challenges due to the war ignited by the Islamic movement Muslim Brotherhood and its leaders within the armed forces.

He added, “While our negotiating delegation is present in Geneva with a sincere desire to find a solution to the Sudanese crisis, the Port Sudan clique is primarily focused on preserving their privileges and personal interests, which are inseparable from the interests of the old regime al-Bashir‘s regim, which bequeathed us wars, displacement, and refugees.”

“We are committed to negotiation as a fundamental and strategic principle to ensure the stability of our country, and that is why we have responded to all regional and international initiatives aimed at stopping the war. But at the same time, we will not allow a mere handful of terrified generals, who fled the capital, to control the fate of our people. We will have many options that we will implement whenever necessary,” he continued.

Hemetti called on Sudanese people and members of the international community to take a firm stance against the indifference shown by the leaders of the military institution who disregard the suffering of millions of Sudanese and the cause of peace and stability in Sudan.

Currently, peace talks are underway in Geneva, Switzerland, since last Wednesday, aiming to end the war in Sudan, under the auspices of the United States and Saudi Arabia, although the Sudanese army has boycotted them.
