Hezbollah Cell in Syria: Details of the Terrorist Plot and Heavy Weapons Seizure

Syrian security services announced that they have dismantled a terrorist cell affiliated with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which was planning operations aimed at undermining the safety and stability of citizens.
In a statement released on the social media platform X, the Syrian Ministry of Interior specified that the Directorate of Internal Security in the Damascus countryside, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate, arrested the cell members during a targeted operation in the towns of Sa’sa’ and Kanaker.
During the raid, security forces seized a large cache of weapons, including:
Rocket launching platforms;
19 Grad rockets;
Anti-tank missiles;
In addition to light arms and large quantities of various ammunition.
According to Brigadier General Ahmad al-Dalati, head of Internal Security in the Damascus countryside province, preliminary investigations revealed that the cell members had received training in camps located inside Lebanese territory. Their intent, he explained, was to carry out operations within Syrian borders that would destabilize the country and endanger civilians.
The Ministry of Interior further stated that the detained individuals have been referred to the competent judicial authorities for legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the relevant agencies continue to interrogate the suspects in order to uncover the full scope of their connections, logistical networks, and operational objectives.
The Ministry also published footage on its official X account showing scenes from the security raid, including the arrests as well as the weapons and rockets confiscated during the operation in western Damascus countryside.
