Houthis Continue Their Crimes and Turn Yemen Into a Battleground for Iranian Conflicts

Ahmed Al-Mussaybali, advisor to the Yemeni Minister of Information, confirmed that violations by the Houthi militia continue on a daily basis and have not ceased since their dark coup against the state. He stressed that the group systematically engages in killing, looting, and kidnapping the Yemeni people.

Al-Mussaybali stated that the Houthis‘ crimes go beyond human rights violations, posing a national security threat by storing weapons and explosives in residential areas. In recent days, Sana’a and Hodeidah have witnessed a series of explosions in Houthi arms depots, where Iranian-supplied ammunition and mines were stored. Local reports also indicate the presence of chemical materials believed to have been sent from Tehran.

He explained that one of the explosions in Sana’a killed more than 40 civilians, including women and children, due to weapons being stored in homes — a blatant violation of the most basic principles of international humanitarian law. In Hodeidah, similar explosions occurred due to poor storage conditions, as the group continues to use schools, mosques, hospitals, and ports as hiding places for weapons.

Al-Mussaybali emphasized that the Houthi militia shows no regard for Yemeni lives and is implementing a colonialist agenda that serves Iran’s expansionist ambitions in the region, actively working to turn Yemen into a battlefield for regional conflicts.

He also noted that Houthi attacks are still targeting various frontline areas. “The Had front in Yafa has seen artillery and rocket shelling targeting civilian homes. Similar violations were recorded in Marib and Taiz, proving that the group continues its abuses without pause.”

The advisor called on the legitimate Yemeni government to “accelerate the resolution of the conflict and complete the liberation of the country from the grip of the militias,” making an appeal to the Arab coalition and the international community: “Supporting the legitimacy and the national army is the only path to freeing Yemen and saving its people from an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe caused by a terrorist group that does not believe in peace.”
