How did Qatar get involved in the bankruptcy of Lebanon? Financial and military funding for the havoc militias

A strong blow to the Lebanese society, with the announcement of the bankruptcy of Lebanon a few days ago, will see the country turn a new page from its successive crises due to the support of Qatar and Iran to Hezbollah, which caused these disasters and crises in Beirut. The people therefore held Doha and Tehran responsible for these current conditions.

A few days ago, Saadeh Al Shami, Deputy Prime Minister of Lebanon, declared the bankruptcy of the state and the Central Bank of Lebanon, and said: The losses will be distributed to the state, the Bank of Lebanon, banks and depositors, and there is no fixed percentage. Unfortunately, the state is bankrupt and so is the Bank of Lebanon.

In the wake of that shocking announcement, Lebanese blamed Iran and Qatar for the deterioration, expressing their deep frustration on social media; They circulated videos and pictures showing the extent of the damage suffered by Lebanon and pointed fingers at Qatar and Iran, pointing out that their interference in their countries’ affairs led to their destruction.

One activist wrote: Iran and Qatar have never entered a state without bankrupting it or toppling it.. Peace be upon Lebanon, which was once the bride of the Middle East, another activist said, describing what is happening in Lebanon as the results of the Iranian project, which destroyed all the abilities of the peoples who are suffering from it.

There is plenty of evidence that Qatar is involved in bankrupting Lebanon by supporting Hezbollah; The news spread, in July 2021, that Qatar provided secret funds to Hezbollah, as the Qatari Ambassador to Belgium tried to prevent the publication of news of his country’s financing Hezbollah through a financial deal, and offered to pay 750 thousand euros to a Western intelligence official to remain silent on his information about Qatar’s role in financing Hezbollah, as he received a former German intelligence agent, who was named Jason G, a total sum of 750 thousand euros to obscure and hide the information collected about Qatar’s support for terrorism.

In a standard pattern of covert Qatari funding of the Muslim Brotherhood, funds were channeled to Hezbollah under the umbrella of Qatari charities, including the Qatar Charity, which is involved in financing a variety of politically active groups across Europe.

The relationship between Qatar and Hezbollah dates back to 2006; It took on a political-financial dimension that outstripped the relationship between the party and Iran, especially with regard to funding and weapons, and Doha has since played a major role in supporting the party and preventing its collapse, when the Emir of Qatar unannounced a visit by Hezbollah’s secretary-general and Doha adopted reconstruction, especially in areas under Hezbollah’s influence in the south and its religious centers.

The relationship strengthened further after America sanctioned and severely restricted Hezbollah; Qatar played the role of the savior of the militia through convincing commercial operations through certain parties to deliver funds to Hezbollah or by sending money in cash to it. Doha has been hiding behind Lebanon’s charities for many years under false slogans such as the reconstruction of Lebanon, humanitarian support for the victims under the guise of food and medicine, through the Qatari Red Crescent, the Sheik Eid bin Mohammed Al Thani charitable association and the Education Foundation above all, but in reality this was all of which was soothing death and destruction by pumping millions of dollars to support the Hezbollah militia and turning the reality of Lebanon into hell.

It is no secret that Qatar paid $1 billion to Iranian militias in coordination with Hezbollah in advance from the deal for the release of the Qataris kidnapped in Iraq, as well as the deal for the Lebanese who were captured by mercenary groups from Syria, which was made by the Director of General Security in Lebanon, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, after Qatar paid $250 billion to the kidnapped mercenaries.

In the Beirut port explosion disaster, fingers were pointed at Qatar’s involvement in financing Hezbollah, which turned Lebanon into a terrorist barracks, according to a report by the U.S. Fox News Network, which revealed the involvement of a member of the royal family in Doha in delivering military equipment to Hezbollah. A file presented by Jason G., the special security representative, documented the role played by a member of the royal family, since 2017, in a sprawling scheme to spread chaos and finance terrorism in the region.
