How has the Muslim Brotherhood exploited the Palestinian cause to serve its own agendas?

The terrorist group Muslim Brotherhood continues to exploit the Palestinian cause as a tool to attract youth and legitimize its extremist agendas. The group focuses on employing the cause in its religious rhetoric, while neglecting any practical role or actual support for the Palestinian people, according to its official positions at the time, which did not include any formal action expressing genuine backing for the cause.

General Dr. Reda Farhat, Vice President of the Conference Party and professor of political science, stated that despite adopting a discourse claiming support for the Palestinian cause, the Brotherhood has formed dubious alliances with entities aiming to destabilize the region. These alliances expose the contradiction between the group’s slogans and its actual practices.

In a statement reported by the Egyptian newspaper Al-Watan, he emphasized that the Brotherhood prioritizes its organizational interests over the interests of the Palestinian people. He noted that this terrorist organization and other insurgent movements attempt to exploit events in Gaza to secure personal gains, using the situation to score political points and promote their specific agenda.

Moreover, the Brotherhood has used regional issues, including the Palestinian cause, as a means to spread chaos and weaken Arab states. It engages in misleading public opinion through media campaigns that distort the positions of countries supporting Palestine, in an effort to undermine international and regional initiatives aimed at achieving peace.

The newspaper highlighted that Egypt has countered these maneuvers with clear and firm positions supporting Palestinian rights practically, through political mediations and humanitarian assistance. It also works to expose the Brotherhood’s lies and educate people about their opportunistic nature.

It is worth noting that the Brotherhood has been exploiting the Palestinian cause for 70 years. In 1948, the beginning of this exploitation was documented in Brotherhood literature, notably with the establishment of the Youth of Mohammed movement, which collected donations for the cause. However, these funds were later redirected to finance the organization.
