Hundreds of Yemenis protested on social media for backing Marib
Many of Yemeni activists are protest through social media for supporting army forces on battlefronts west of Yemen’s Marib governorate, where Iran-backed Houthi militias have been struggling pro-government forces violently for four months.
Indeed, civilians and politicians called in their social media posts, for more strengthening to army forces in Marib, considering that the fight there is vital to defeating the Iranian project in Yemen. They also appealed for a rapid success, deploying additional defense brigades to Marib and driving Houthi militias out from their positions in the governorate.
Moreover, the campaign came as military reports affirming again that the army, supported by the Arab Coalition air forces, is continually resisting Houthi assaults west of Marib.
The fight against Iran’s expansionist ambitions
On his part, Yemeni Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani indicated that government forces in Marib are not only struggling for preserving national interests but they are also struggling against Iran’s expansionist goals and the terrorism of Houthi militias.
Otherwise, the internationally recognized Yemeni government accused the rebels of adopting the Iranian plan and obstructing peace efforts. Houthis have continued their military escalation in Marib and failed to obey with the UN and international appeals to cease all attacks and to achieve peace, according to the government.
Besides, Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalek visited the eastern governorate of Hadhramout on Sunday. The prime minister’s official account published a tweet: Abdulmalek arrived in Mukalla on an inspection visit to the governorate of Hadhramout. Despite that he was arrived in Mukalla, Hadhramout’s provincial capital, Abdulmalek’s many-day visit would include Mahara and Shabwa.
Furthermore, Abdulmalek has the intention to evaluate living conditions in the governorate and debate concerns and necessities in terms of projects and services required by residents. He would also discuss local authority efforts in service and development, attaining security and stability and responding to urgent priorities.
Hadhramout Governor Faraj al-Bohsoni and many officials welcomed the premier at Ryan airport, it’s the first visit by the Yemeni prime minister to the governorate since the government formation.
