Iran and Hezbollah carry out simultaneous attacks on Israel
Iran launched three missile salvos, some of which were cluster munitions, targeting various areas in Israel and injuring four people in the city of Bnei Brak.
Four people were injured in Bnei Brak, in central Israel, at dawn on Thursday as a result of missile attacks launched from Iran, described as a response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to destroy Tehran’s missile program. At the same time, Hezbollah carried out coordinated attacks on military sites in northern Israel.
During the early hours of dawn, Iran conducted three missile salvos, some of them involving cluster munitions, targeting several areas across Israel. This resulted in four injuries in Bnei Brak, in the center of the country, according to Israel’s Channel 12. The channel noted that the attacks in the city caused damage to vehicles and to the water network, leading to significant water leakage. Such attacks raise questions within the Hebrew state about the ability of the Iron Dome system to intercept all incoming projectiles, especially when they are launched simultaneously.
For its part, Hezbollah announced on Thursday that it had carried out twelve attacks using rockets and artillery shells, targeting Israeli settlements, bases, troop concentrations, forces, and military vehicles up until 04:00 GMT. In successive statements, the group said the attacks were carried out “in defense of Lebanon and its people,” as the Israeli offensive against the country has continued since March 2.
The operations included targeting ten concentrations of Israeli forces and vehicles with rockets and artillery in several locations in southern Lebanon, namely Rachaf, Qantara, and Aïnata (three times), as well as in northern Israel: the settlement of Malkia (three times), Metula, and Yir’on.
Hezbollah also announced that it had targeted Israeli army infrastructure in the Kiryat Ata area east of the city of Haifa with a missile barrage. It added that its forces had also targeted the settlement of Even Menachem in northern Israel with a swarm of attack drones.
Israel has imposed a blackout on the results of Hezbollah’s attacks, enforcing media censorship and warning against publishing images or information related to casualties or targeted sites.
According to official figures, the Israeli offensive against Lebanon since March 2 has resulted in 1,318 deaths and 3,935 injuries.
Israel’s expanded attack on Lebanon comes in the context of the repercussions of the war it is waging, alongside the United States, against Iran, Hezbollah’s ally, since February 28—a conflict that has claimed hundreds of lives, including that of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades and others since the last war between October 2023 and November of the following year.
President Trump has pledged to continue striking Iran “over the next two to three weeks,” emphasizing that the primary strategic objectives of the war against Iran “are close to being achieved.”
