Islamic welcome to anti-Islamophobia decision by US House of Representatives
The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed the adoption by the United States House of Representatives of the International Law against Islamophobia.
“This is an important step to combat Islamophobia and incitement to hatred, intolerance, discrimination, stigmatization and violence based on religion or belief”, the organization said.
The OIC General Secretariat praised the decision to establish an office in the US State Department and to appoint a special envoy to monitor and combat the phenomenon of Islamophobia worldwide, expressing its aspiration to cooperate with this envoy.
The OIC General Secretariat renewed its call to the international community to unite efforts to promote understanding, peaceful coexistence and harmony among all religions.
