Israel initiates practical plans to displace Palestinians

Israeli Channel 12 confirmed that about one hundred residents of Gaza have left for Indonesia to work in the construction sector, following consultations with the Indonesian government through unofficial channels.

Israel has begun implementing initial trials to apply a plan to relocate residents of the Gaza Strip, targeting the displacement of hundreds of Palestinians to foreign countries, in a step that could pave the way for mass displacement in the future.

Channel 12 revealed that around one hundred Gaza residents left on Tuesday as part of a pilot plan to work in Indonesia in the construction field, a step considered part of an Israeli plan to relocate Gaza’s residents under the title of “voluntary migration.” The Israeli plan aims to encourage Palestinians to leave Gaza, a region currently enduring the weight of ongoing wars and humanitarian crises.

This step is part of a broader Israeli plan led by the Coordinator of Israeli Government Activities in the Occupied Territories, General Gassan Aliyan. According to the report aired by the channel, it was emphasized that the pilot project allows Gaza residents to work abroad, especially in Indonesia. However, the most important aspect of the project is that it reflects Israel’s desire to encourage Palestinians to settle abroad, aligning with Israeli policy aimed at alleviating pressure on the Gaza Strip.

While international law guarantees refugees the right to return, this initiative poses a significant threat to Gaza’s demographic future.

The launch of this experiment was preceded by consultations with the Indonesian government, despite the lack of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Israel, highlighting the informal diplomacy Israel used to implement this project. If successful, the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s Immigration Administration will take charge of these efforts in the long term.

This project has been strongly rejected by many international parties, who see it as a threat to the future of Palestinians in Gaza. Many countries and human rights organizations have expressed concern about the project, considering it a policy of forced displacement and a disregard for Palestinian rights.

The United Nations, which emphasizes respect for Palestinian refugees’ rights and their right to return, stated that this step contradicts international principles concerning refugees’ fundamental rights. Some international organizations also consider this plan as an attempt to impose a new reality on Palestinians in Gaza, aiming to liquidate the Palestinian refugee issue and displace them from their homeland. Other organizations warned that this move could lead to further tensions in the region, especially amid the ongoing crisis Gaza is facing.

While Israel continues its trials on voluntary migration, Egypt is continuing its efforts to support Gaza within the framework of its reconstruction plan. Amid the massive destruction caused by Israel’s ongoing aggression, Egypt is striving to provide humanitarian aid and rebuild Gaza’s damaged infrastructure. However, Egypt’s reconstruction plan faces numerous challenges, particularly due to difficult security conditions and the blockade imposed on Gaza.

Nonetheless, Egypt’s firm stance in supporting the Palestinian cause and rejecting Israeli actions provides moral support to Gaza’s residents, who are enduring one of the worst humanitarian crises in their contemporary history. The international community hopes that these efforts will help ease the suffering of Palestinians and enable them to build a more stable future.
