Israeli attacks on Beirut and Iran as Golani Brigade deployed to Lebanon
On Wednesday, Israel carried out a large-scale wave of attacks simultaneously in Beirut and Iran, while reinforcing its forces in Lebanon with the deployment of the Golani Brigade.
The Israeli military announced that it had “launched a broad wave of strikes targeting infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime across various parts of Iran.” At the same time, it said an additional series of airstrikes had begun targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, the Israeli army had warned residents of Haret Hreik and Bourj el-Barajneh, located in the southern suburbs of Beirut, to evacuate the area.
Avichay Adraee, the Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesperson, posted an urgent warning on the platform X addressed to residents of Beirut’s southern suburbs, particularly those living in Haret Hreik and Bourj el-Barajneh.
He stated: “You must leave immediately and move east along the Damascus Highway.”
He also indicated that the Israeli military would operate in the coming hours in the areas of Haret Hreik and Bourj el-Barajneh, as well as inside the complex located south of the Damascus Highway, as indicated on the published map.

The strikes in Beirut came after Israel announced the reinforcement of its forces in Lebanon with units from the Golani Brigade, which had been transferred from the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military said: “Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir conducted a situation assessment on Wednesday following various developments in Operation Roar of the Lion, with the participation of other senior commanders.”
It added: “The Chief of Staff directed that the Northern Command area be reinforced and ordered the transfer of the Golani Brigade combat team from the Southern Command (Gaza) to operate under the Northern Command (Lebanon).”

According to the military, a decision regarding additional reinforcements will be made later based on the evolving situation.
The Israeli army also stated that it would continue to act forcefully against Hezbollah, which it said had decided to join the conflict while operating under the sponsorship of the Iranian regime.
The Golani Brigade thus joins the 91st and 36th divisions that are already conducting military operations in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings for six villages in southern Lebanon.

Avichay Adraee warned residents of Yater, Al-Qleileh (Tyre district), Kafra (Bint Jbeil district), Jabal al-Botm, Majdal Zoun and Al-Haniyya (Tyre district).
He stated: “Leave your homes immediately and move to the area north of the Litani River.”
The Israeli military also announced on Wednesday morning that it had completed an additional wave of airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut targeting headquarters and sites used for storing Hezbollah weapons.
It added that on Tuesday Israeli forces had struck a Hezbollah headquarters in the Tyre area of southern Lebanon.
