“July 3″… An extraordinary rule and simultaneous development of the Seawater system

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi will inaugurate, Saturday, the “July 3” base near the border with Libya, with huge potential, which will culminate in years of naval development.

The base, which dates back to the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization on 3 July 2013, is located in Jirjoub, located in the town of El Negaila in western Matruh province.

Once opened, the July 3 base will join a large group of naval bases built by Egypt in recent years, located near the commercial port of Jarjub, an industrial and logistic area, an economic center, and the El-Dabaa nuclear plant, in addition to its proximity to the strategic border with the State of Libya, which makes its position strategically privileged, according to observers.

Naval Bases Series

In an al-Qaida video, the military spokesman said that the July 3 facilities are consistent with the code of global naval bases, and with a complete military scope.

The new base includes command, control and warning stations, workshops, warehouses, logistics centers, sophisticated shooting ranges, tactical training fields, sports fields, swimming pools, shelters and a central hospital, medical points, shopping malls, hotels and entertainment venues.

July 3 joins Mohamed Naguib’s larger base in Africa and the Middle East, which al-Sissi opened in El-Hamam, Matruh in 2017, as well as Sidi Barrani base, 100 kilometers from Egypt’s border with Libya.

In January 2020, al-Sissi inaugurated the largest naval military base at Bernice in the Red Sea.

In the video footage of the July 3 base, the Egyptian military spokesman said that the naval forces will carry out the maneuver “Qader 2021,” on the sidelines of the opening of the July 3 base, today.

The Egyptian Air Force carried out the maneuver “Qader 2020” in conjunction with the opening of the Bernice Naval Base in January 2020.

Constant development

“Over the past years, Egypt has developed and modernized its navy in an unprecedented way, in a clear reading of the changing nature of current threats and challenges and in response to the importance of securing the country’s capabilities and wealth in the Mediterranean.”

The strategic bases on the Red and White Seas have not been built up, as the Egyptian command has supplied the navy with the world’s latest weapons systems and various arms sources.

Over the past few years, Egypt has supported the Navy with a French FREMM-Viva Egypt to support the Egyptian frigate fleet in the Red and White Seas, and the French Mistral helicopter carriers, a large multi-capacity force in the battle system.

The Egyptian navy also acquired the stealth frigate Gowind-2500, a modern deal Egypt signed with the French side.

In addition, the Egyptian command, the Navy, has supplied two Italian frigate Frame Bergamini, El-Galala and Bernice.

The Egyptian navy was armed with German Type 209/ 1400 submarines, which are the most advanced in the submarine world, in addition to a number of advanced missile launchers and a number of South Korean warships.

The new rules and weapons systems strengthen the Egyptian Navy’s ability to secure more than 2,000 kilometers of shores in the Red and White Seas, as well as the Suez Canal.
