Lapid to Netanyahu: “Get Out of Our Lives”
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has reiterated his call for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign from his position.
On his official account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), Lapid stated, “For Israel’s security, Netanyahu must resign, and this government must get out of our lives.”
The past days saw the resignation of the head of the military intelligence branch of the Israeli army, General Aharon Haliva, prompting Lapid to demand that Netanyahu follow Haliva’s lead.
Since the Hamas attack in southern Israel on October 7th, Lapid has sharply criticized Netanyahu and held him responsible for the attack.
Earlier, Lapid had said, “This government, this Prime Minister, have become an existential threat to Israel, they have undermined Israeli deterrence, our enemies see this government and smell weakness and raise their heads.”
The opposition, led by Lapid who refused to participate in Netanyahu‘s war government, accuses the latter of mismanaging the war that erupted after the Hamas attack.
Israel claims that the Hamas attack resulted in 1200 deaths and the abduction of 250 hostages, with around 133 still being held in Gaza.
