Latest news of the war against Iran: Israel attacks 400 targets in 24 hours
Israel announced on Sunday that it had struck more than 400 targets in western and central Iran within the past 24 hours.
The Israeli army said: “The Air Force has completed a wide wave of strikes over the past twenty-four hours in western and central Iran, where more than 400 targets belonging to the Iranian regime were attacked, including ballistic missile platforms and facilities used for the production of military equipment.”
It added: “Since the beginning of Operation ‘Roar of the Lion’, the Air Force has carried out hundreds of offensive sorties targeting missile launch platforms, air defense systems, weapons depots, and additional infrastructure of the Iranian regime, with the aim of reducing the pace of missile launches toward Israeli territory.”
The Israeli military also announced that it had targeted F-14 fighter jets at Isfahan Airport.
In another statement, it said: “During a large wave of strikes carried out yesterday (Saturday) by the Air Force, complexes where F-14 fighter jets belonging to the Iranian regime were stored were targeted at the airport located in Isfahan.”
It added: “Detection and defense systems that posed a threat to Air Force aircraft were also targeted.”
The army noted that “this strike comes in addition to the destruction of 16 aircraft used by a unit of the Quds Force at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran the day before yesterday, as part of efforts to deepen the Air Force’s aerial superiority over Iranian airspace.”
Israeli assessments: regime change in Iran will take time
The Israeli military has continued to escalate its attacks in Iran for more than a week. Nevertheless, Israeli circles estimate that any change in Iran’s political system will require time.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority stated: “Israeli assessments indicate that any real change in Iran’s governing system still requires time, and that the course of this transformation does not depend solely on internal developments in Tehran but also on the nature of the steps that Israel and the United States will take in the coming period.”
It added: “According to these assessments, the outcome of the ongoing war and the accompanying military and political pressures will determine the range of possible scenarios regarding the future of power in Iran.”
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority also pointed out that “some Israeli circles believe that the discrepancy between Iranian political rhetoric and certain developments on the ground may indicate a malfunction at the center of decision-making, or at least a decline in the level of discipline within state institutions.”
