Libya: Foreign Minister affirmed the need for the withdraw of the foreign forces

Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush affirmed the need for the removal of foreign forces from her country.

On Thursday, during a press conference with her Italian counterpart in Rome, the Minister appealed on illegitimate foreign military forces to withdraw from Libya in a way that permits holding polls that are set for December in secure conditions. She also stressed the necessity to activate the conclusions of the Berlin conference to evaluate the tools to the execution of the ceasefire in Libya.

In fact, Mangoush’s indication to foreign fighters has been understood as mercenaries, and not Turkish and Italian forces that are dynamic in Libya. She said her comments just after that Italian military officials affirmed that their forces would still in the North African country as part of the bilateral cooperation with the new Government of National Unity (GNU), ruled by Abdulhamid Dbeibeh.

An air surveillance operation

Otherwise, the Libyan National Army (LNA), directed by Khalifa Haftar executed an air surveillance process on the Libyan border with Chad after the murder of the neighboring country’s president Idriss Déby during confrontations with revolutionaries last week. Thus, the chief of the Presidential Council Mohammed al-Menfi went to Chad on Friday to participate on his funeral.

However, the LNA didn’t issue an official statement about the surveillance operation, but commander of the al-Kafra military zone stated that forces were on alert to prevent any probable instability in the area.
