Lindsay’s suicide: This teenager saved in extremis who wanted to join her

On May 12, 2023, Lindsay, a 13-year-old girl, committed suicide while being bullied in school. On Saturday, June 3, 2023, a netizen raised the alarm after receiving very worrying messages from someone who wanted to end life, as Le Parisien reports, the same day.

Since May 12, 2023, the suicide of Lindsay, a 13-year-old girl who has been the victim of school harassment, has stirred up the whole of France. For this reason, Sarah Frikh, known as Kayaa on social media, was keen to host a live on the topic of harassment on Saturday, June 3, 2023. But the self-described cyberharassment consultant was caught by the comments of a netizen who claimed to be a friend of Lindsay. “We were talking about this girl and one netizen explains that she is a friend of hers. She in turn expresses the wish to commit suicide. I thought of a fake account but I preferred not to leave room for doubt,” Sarah Frikh explained in the columns of Le Parisien on Saturday, June 3, 2023. In a private conversation with her, Courbet’s former investigator and collaborator on the show It Can Happen to You gets scared and decides to call her in an attempt to stop her from acting.
“This whole chain helped rescue a young girl”

“I realized on this short call that she was in total distress, she seemed to know Lindsay. It wasn’t a hoax. She wouldn’t pass her parents to me,” she said, saying that she had been able to locate the teenager’s phone.

Immediately, she made the decision to contact the police so they could help and intervene. “The company of Lumbres (Pas-de-Calais) called me back and I gave them everything: the exchanges, his statements, his number.” After waiting for long, agonizing minutes, she was reassured by Captain Sébastien Possemé, head of the digital brigade of the national gendarmerie.

“Thanks to you! Your report allowed the Gendarmerie Digital Brigade to move very quickly to the appropriate Gendarmerie Brigade. The young person in distress is taken care of. She is now safe,’ he wrote to the whistleblower. Contacted by Le Parisien, the captain wanted to specify: “We were seized by a netizen who sent us this publication, this alert from Sarah. We contacted the Pharos platform and conducted our investigations to verify that our services were going to intervene, that this was not a false story. This whole chain helped rescue a young girl.”
