Meet (Abu Zar’a al-Mahrami)… the Yemeni Leader Who Defeated the Houthis, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Al-Qaeda

The newspaper (Amna.net) has published a comprehensive report introducing Abu Zar’a al-Mahrami, a member of the Presidential Council, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council, and Commander of the Southern Giants Brigades.

According to the newspaper, al-Mahrami is a powerful Yemeni leader who has challenged Iran and has become a nightmare for the leaders of the Houthi terrorist militia. The militias have been unable to withstand him in any battle, and he has led the Southern Giants Brigades to achieve victories against Iran’s arm on the western coast with the support of the Arab coalition.

Al-Mahrami’s forces managed to reach the outskirts of Hodeidah, which terrified both the Houthis and the Muslim Brotherhood, leading to the suspension of the battle by the Stockholm Agreement and preventing the joint forces from liberating Hodeidah.

Al-Mahrami’s successes in establishing the Southern Giants Brigades have terrified the Muslim Brotherhood, which has mobilized its media and sources to target the Southern leader through rumors and lies.

Journalist Mohamed Saïd Bahaddad confirmed that the Southern Giants Brigades under the leadership of their founder, General Abu Zar’a al-Mahrami, are a formidable fortress and a solid shield for the South.

He noted that the rumors spread by the Muslim Brotherhood against the Giants and their leader reflect their awareness that these forces have cleansed the western coast and defeated the Houthis, while the (Islah) party has only achieved defeats and betrayals.

Abu Zar’a, whose full name is Abdul Rahman Saleh Aqeel al-Mahrami, is the commander of the Southern Giants Brigades. He is a respected Quranic scholar and a Hafiz of the Holy Quran, enjoying great respect and popularity in Yemen.

In 2015, he successfully repelled Houthi terrorist attacks on Aden, then established the Security Belt and Support and Reinforcement Forces in Aden.

He led several operations to repel Houthi terrorist attacks in the governorates of Aden, Abyan, and Lahj, led the “Golden Lance” battle on the western coast, and founded the Southern Giants Brigades.

Abu Zar’a is the nephew of the late General Ahmed Saïf al-Mahrami al-Yafi’i, former Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Army, who was martyred in early 2017 while leading the “Golden Lance” operation to liberate the coasts of Taiz.

Due to his rare appearances, Abu Zar’a has become a mysterious figure and an architect of victories who prefers to stay out of the spotlight as a leader and strategist.

He established the Southern Giants Brigades, composed of 27 military brigades, equipped them with the latest weaponry and training technologies, and led several battles.

After his military success, Abu Zar’a joined the Presidential Council as the youngest member, being under 42 years old, transitioning from the arts of war and the battlefield to the negotiating table.

Away from the media, General Abu Zar’a has contributed to leading counter-terrorism operations in various locations across the governorates of Aden, Abyan, and Lahj, and has defeated the terrorist organizations ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

It is noteworthy that Southern leader al-Mahrami is facing a fierce media attack due to his firm stance against corruption and attempts to circumvent the principle of partnership agreed upon by all parties participating in the Leadership Council.
