Morocco condemns Houthi terrorist attacks on UAE

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita has condemned the Houthi terrorist attacks on the United Arab Emirates, describing them as a threat to the region.

Morocco’s King Mohammed VI expressed Morocco’s strong condemnation of the Houthi attacks on the UAE, Bourita said.

In a press conference held on the sidelines of the African Union summit held in Addis Ababa, he said that the Moroccan King had made a phone call to Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and strongly condemned this shameful act.

He added that King Mohammed VI condemned the despicable attack launched by the Houthi terrorist militia against the United Arab Emirates, and considered it a threat to security and stability in the region.

The Moroccan Foreign Minister also said that the King affirmed Morocco’s support for the UAE and its readiness to provide all the support required to contribute, alongside the UAE, to the protection of its territory and to reassure its citizens and residents.

The Moroccan Foreign Minister described the Houthi attack as cowardly, which will harm stability in the region.

The Moroccan official added that the King reiterated the Kingdom’s firm support for all the steps taken by the UAE to defend its territory and reassure its citizens in the face of the despicable attacks of Houthi militias, stressing that the Kingdom is always with the UAE against Houthi terrorism.
It is expected that the 35th African Summit of Heads of State and Government will conclude, Sunday, a day after the launch of its effectiveness, amid growing coups in the continent.

The summit was attended by the heads of state of the west of the continent, which has witnessed frequent coups d’État, which has made the issue dominate the agenda of the summit.

The summit is being held in the absence of four countries whose membership was recently suspended by the African Union due to coups d’État: Mali, Sudan, Guinea Conakry and Burkina Faso.
