Muslim Brotherhood – Collective resignations are reported

Reports of collective resignations in the Muslim Brotherhood have surfaced after Ibrahim Munir dismissed acting Brotherhood leader Mustafa Tolba earlier this month, signaling a new wave of defections within the ranks of the banned, terrorist-designated group in some countries.

Egyptian sources said that dozens of people resigned collectively from the organization over the past few days, following the recent decisions of the leaders. The most prominent of these decisions was the removal of the Istanbul guide, Mustafa Tolba, by the London Command, headed by Munir.

According to the sources, the text of the resignations, which was circulated internally in a large way, stated that the leaders, all of whom are Egyptian brotherhood, have lost their full trust in the central leadership. The image of the second has become highly distorted after the mutual accusations from both sides; to feel shocked at the falsehood of the group’s slogans exposed by recent disagreements.

One source attributes another reason to the state of disobedience, related to the suspension of financial support, which has been provided monthly to a number of Brotherhood families inside Egypt since 2013, but has almost completely stopped; because of the crisis of the internal conflict, which is difficult for regulations, especially since the current conflict is caused by cases of financial embezzlement, and mutual accusations between the two parties.

Since the beginning of February, the Muslim Brotherhood conflict has entered an advanced stage of media exchanges and decisive decisions on both fronts. In a statement, Munir described the Istanbul leadership as not part of the Brotherhood. Observers considered it a historic development for the Brotherhood’s conflict crisis, reaching the point of disowning one group from another.
