Muslim Brotherhood Training Tens of Thousands of Youth for Combat… What Awaits Sudan?

A Muslim Brotherhood leader has revealed that tens of thousands of youth are being trained for combat, which could turn Sudan into a new hotspot for armed conflicts.

Sudanese journalist Maher Abu Al-Joukh stated in an interview that extremist organizations that have controlled Sudan’s government for decades continue to threaten the country’s security and stability.

Abu Al-Joukh believes that the recent speech by Abd al-Hai Youssef, a prominent figure in Sudanese politics, aims to recruit fighters under religious pretexts in order to ignite new conflicts, while these groups seek to sabotage any efforts towards establishing a democratic civilian government.

Meanwhile, expert Dr. Imad Gad noted that the Muslim Brotherhood is attempting to exploit internal divisions to regain its influence, pointing out that “the unstable political environment in Sudan provides space for these groups to recruit and train.”

He emphasized that political Islam, whether moderate or extremist, remains loyal to its ideologies that do not recognize the nation-state, referencing the Muslim Brotherhood‘s experience in Egypt and how they became an armed violent group as soon as they came to power.

Experts believe that countering these organizations requires a multi-dimensional approach, including combating extremist ideologies and cutting off funding sources for these groups.
