New Humanitarian Initiative: UAE’s plan to save Cancer patients in Gaza
In an effort to revive their lives, the UAE is preparing a commendable initiative for cancer patients in the Gaza Strip. The citizens of Gaza have been enduring a devastating war since October 7, putting many children at risk of death without proper treatment amid continuous attacks on hospitals.
Egypt, along with the UAE and Turkey, has made numerous attempts to evacuate child cancer patients from Gaza in a rescue mission involving several countries and last-minute communications amidst the ongoing war.
The UAE’s role reflects the country’s steadfast humanitarian approach to stand by its brothers and lend a helping hand in various circumstances.
UAE Directives for Cancer patients’ treatment
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has directed the hosting of a thousand Palestinians, including children and adults, suffering from cancer in various age groups in Gaza. They will receive necessary treatments and all kinds of healthcare they require in the country’s hospitals. This initiative is part of the continuous efforts by the UAE at various levels to assist the Palestinian people and enhance the response to the worsening humanitarian conditions in the region.
Recently, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also directed the hosting of a thousand Palestinian children along with their families from Gaza to provide all types of medical and healthcare until they recover and return. He also ordered the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital within Gaza as part of “Operation The Gallant Knight 3” to meet the humanitarian needs of the affected people in the region.
Saving Gaza’s children
Planes carrying children and their families have also arrived in the UAE as part of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s initiative to treat a thousand Palestinian children from Gaza in the country’s hospitals.
The plane arriving from Al-Arish Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt landed at Abu Dhabi airport, carrying children in desperate need of medical assistance, suffering from severe injuries and burns, as well as cancer patients in need of urgent treatment.
Dhurair Balhoul Al Falasi, the CEO of Watanii, stated that the UAE has proven to the world its great humanitarian values and steadfast commitment to serving humanity. The UAE has spared no effort in providing urgent healthcare and relief, demonstrating its constant commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering amid continuous hospital bombings and displacement of Gaza residents due to the ongoing bombardment.
Balhoul, in exclusive statements, added that the continuation of the “Compassion for Gaza” initiative, and witnessing today the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Head of State, to host and treat around 1000 Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip along with their families, as well as hosting 1000 Palestinians suffering from cancer, indicates the strength of the fraternal ties that bind the United Arab Emirates to the Palestinian people and its sincere desire for peace.
The Egyptian political researcher, Mukhtar Ghabashi, believes that the UAE has swiftly provided humanitarian aid to Gaza since the crisis began. In this regard, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Head of State, directed the provision of assistance amounting to twenty million dollars. He also ordered the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital within the Gaza Strip as part of “Operation The Gallant Knight 3.” Another aspect of this is the new plan to receive cancer patients due to the absence of hospitals and medical services for their treatment.
Ghabashi pointed out that all Arabs are of one heart, and the UAE is the pulse of the Arabs globally. Its presence in the United Nations Security Council and its messages to the world assert that the Palestinian cause does not accept retreat. He emphasized that the Israeli side is committing massacres and genocide against the Palestinian people.
