New York: Storm topples bomber and rips roof off ancient church
A storm was powerful enough to knock a B-52 bomber off its platform and tear the roof off a 19th-century church in central New York State, resulting in the death of a person who went out to check on their antique car, according to Reuters.
Kathy Hochul, Governor of New York, surveyed the storm‘s damage on Wednesday after it swept through the area and declared a state of emergency across the entire state.
The state of emergency remains in effect with forecasts of stormy winds and heavy rainfall in many parts of the state.

The Mohawk Valley is among the most affected areas. Hochul said a confirmed tornado swept through the city of Rome, destroying four buildings and causing significant damage to 22 others, during a press conference in the city.
She added that the storm was so powerful it toppled a B-52 bomber, weighing 83,000 kilograms, off its platform at Griffiss Air Force Base.
