The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms revealed that Houthis have systematically targeted women. The network documented over 2,700 killings, primarily due to heavy weapon bombardment and landmines, along with other brutal forms of murder. Taiz governorate tops the list of the most affected areas, followed by Al-Hodeidah, Aden, and Lahij.
The violations are not limited to killings but also include severe injuries to thousands of women, some of whom have been permanently disabled by landmine explosions. The network also recorded hundreds of cases of abductions and detentions, with some women forcibly disappeared into secret prisons.

Ahmed Jabari, a Yemeni analyst and human rights activist, stated that these repeated violations have devastating effects on Yemeni society, increasing women’s suffering and worsening the humanitarian crisis. These acts also constitute blatant violations of international humanitarian law and human rights.
He added that the international community and the United Nations must urgently intervene to stop these crimes, conduct transparent investigations, hold perpetrators accountable, and pressure the Houthi militias to cease targeting civilians, especially women and children.
