Qatari Army Chief of Staff meets with Israeli counterpart and agrees to install Israeli radars in Qatar

Although Qatar and its propaganda machine are accustomed to accusing Arabs and countries in the region of any serious attempt to establish a peace treaty or agreement, the truth that is hidden from the eyes is the secret meetings that Doha holds with Israeli leaders at all levels, and its efforts to work with them, but behind the scenes and away from the eyes, so that the Emirate remains on its preferred tone of betraying others and hurling accusations at them.

Qatari Chief of Staff in Israel

According to the Hebrew newspaper Times of Israel, on Friday, the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, Salem bin Hamad Al Nabit, met with the Israeli Army Commander, Aviv Kochavi, to discuss military cooperation between Qatar and Israel.

The Israeli newspaper revealed that the news of the senior Qatari official’s meeting with his Israeli counterpart was revealed by the Saudi news website Elaph, also early Friday morning.

According to Hebrew reports, the Qatari and Israeli officials discussed military cooperation between the two sides, especially in light of recent developments in the region.

They also reportedly discussed the possibility of Qatar joining a “regional alliance against Iran’s potential aggression”, specifically regarding the drone threat, which would be against the will of Doha, Iran’s only ally in the region, and if this news were true, it would put Qatar in direct confrontation with its ally Iran.

Israeli radars in Qatar

The Times of Israel noted that the Qatari and Israeli defense ministers discussed the possibility of putting advanced Israeli radars in Qatar, for the sake of early warning devices from Iranian drones and missiles.

According to Elaph, the meeting between the military leaders was held at the headquarters of the US Naval Forces Central Command, the US Navy’s 5th Fleet, and the Joint Naval Forces stationed in Bahrain.

Security partners

In a statement, Kochavi explained: “Over the past year, we’ve built a network of strategic security partners in multiple countries in the Middle East. This network enhances the strategic advantage we have in countering threats in the region”.

Despite Doha’s claims for years that it does not normalize relations with Israel, it has maintained contacts with Israel on the issue of Gaza and Hamas, many of whose leaders have settled in Doha, far from the Palestinian cause.

Doha still wants to exploit the inflammatory and propagandistic tone against its regional environment through hoarding and bidding. According to Times of Israel, Doha has ruled out the possibility of normalizing relations with Israel in the future.
