Removal of the X Logo from Twitter’s Headquarters Roof After Complaints

The giant illuminated X logo was removed from the top of a towering building in San Francisco, which houses the headquarters of the billionaire Elon Musk’s messaging applications company, formerly known as Twitter.

The city’s building management received 24 complaints related to the large logo, which was placed on Friday above the company’s headquarters in downtown San Francisco, causing annoyance to neighbors due to the bright lights.

This move came after a post by Musk, who acquired the company in October for $44 billion, in which he announced that the company, now renamed as “X,” will remain in San Francisco despite others leaving or moving out of the city. Musk wrote, “Beautiful San Francisco, even as others leave you, we will always be your friends.”

However, the giant X logo did not stay in place for long.

A spokesperson for the city’s building inspection department stated in an email on Monday, “This morning, building inspectors noted that the logo is being dismantled.” The spokesperson added, “A fee will be assessed to the property owner for installing an unauthorized illuminated logo.”

Earlier this week, local residents recorded a video showing the giant illuminated logo, with some criticizing the bothersome light it emitted.
