Second Vessel of the Caravan of Resilience Reportedly Targeted by Drone Attack

The Maghreb “Caravan of Resilience” announced that a second vessel from its global flotilla, heading to break the blockade of Gaza, was allegedly targeted by an Israeli attack at the port of Sidi Bou Said, near Tunis. The incident casts renewed doubt on the official narrative of an “accidental fire” that affected a Spanish boat the previous day in the same port.

Gaza Truce: Trump Anticipates a Deal Soon, Hamas Responds
In a brief statement released Tuesday evening on its Facebook page, the organization declared: “We suspect a Zionist attack on Alma, the second-largest ship of the Caravan of Resilience, currently docked near Sidi Bou Said,” adding that no casualties were reported among the activists on board. The statement concluded: “We are moving forward to Gaza, and cowardly and treacherous aggressions will not intimidate us.”
This is the second time in as many days that the flotilla has reported being targeted. On Monday, it accused an Israeli drone of striking a Spanish vessel taking part in the initiative. The Tunisian Interior Ministry, however, denied such claims, asserting that the incident was caused by a minor fire in a few life jackets, quickly extinguished without human or material losses.

On Tuesday, Wael Nawar, a member of the Maghreb Caravan of Resilience’s steering committee, confirmed that the global flotilla’s collective departure toward Gaza was scheduled for Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. local time (15:00 GMT) from Sidi Bou Said port.
On Sunday, nearly 20 ships arriving from Spain reached the Tunisian coast to prepare for the journey toward Gaza. This convoy, which departed Barcelona at the end of August, has been joined by a second fleet from Genoa that set sail on September 1. A third flotilla is expected to depart from Tunis on Wednesday to merge with the others en route.

The initiative brings together several organizations, including the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the Global Gaza Movement, the Caravan of Resilience, and the Malaysian group “Nusantara Resilience,” with hundreds of activists from more than 40 countries on board.
Israel has previously intercepted and seized individual ships attempting to breach the blockade, often deporting activists. However, this marks the first time that such a large number of vessels are sailing together toward Gaza.
