Simple Tips to Improve Your Diet During the Month of Ramadan

With the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world adhere to fasting from dawn until dusk, requiring special attention to proper nutrition.

In this regard, nutrition expert Rahef Al-Boushi shared with “CNN” the best ways to eat healthily and maintain body hydration during this holy month.

Firstly, Al-Boushi emphasized the importance of having an early suhoor meal, considered an early breakfast that provides the body with energy during the long fasting hours.

When it’s time to break the fast, Al-Boushi recommended starting with drinking water and then consuming dates, highlighting their health benefits as a quick source of energy and fiber that aids in the digestion process.

She advised including a variety of components in iftar meals, such as complex carbohydrates, proteins, and healthy fats, with a focus on a balanced and appropriate distribution of meals throughout the iftar period.

Al-Boushi stressed the importance of listening to hunger and satiety signals and eating slowly during suhoor and iftar.

Regarding hydration, Al-Boushi recommended drinking adequate amounts of water during the iftar hours, along with adding electrolytes that enhance the body’s water absorption process, making you feel hydrated for longer hours.
