Solar storm strikes earth, causes “rare phenomenon”

Camera lenses captured stunning scenes of a solar storm striking the Earth.

The impact created a rare phenomenon in the night sky of Canada, manifesting as “bright orange columns” of light.

Experts say the images include a rare mix of red and green lights that haven’t been visible to this extent since a powerful solar storm hit Earth on Halloween nearly 20 years ago.

Polar aurora photographer Harlan Thomas told “SpaceWeather.com,” “The orange color was stunning and unbelievable; the columns in the center remained glowing there for over 20 minutes.”

Thomas captured this image on October 19th above a pond located west of Calgary in Alberta, after about 3 days of the Sun launching a massive and slow coronal mass ejection toward Earth.
