The United Kingdom and Ireland are grappling with the aftermath of the storm ” Jocelyn,” as winds have caused widespread chaos and left thousands without power.
The winds accompanying the storm, blowing at speeds of 97 miles per hour, have resulted in massive disruptions to travel, leaving nearly 12,000 homes and businesses without electricity across the Republic of Ireland, according to the British newspaper “The Independent.”
Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited stated earlier on Wednesday that power had been restored since Sunday evening to over 52,000 customers in Northern Ireland.
Rail services between Scotland and Northern Ireland have been suspended at least until today, as the Scottish rail network reported incidents of flooding, tree falls, and building roof damage on rail lines.
