Targeting a New Israeli Settlement… Nasrallah’s Escalating Threats
The Hezbollah is escalating its confrontation with Israel by targeting and increasing tensions on the northern front of the Israeli war, following the recent escalation and continuous bombing by Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip. This prompted the Secretary-General of the Iranian-backed Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, to threaten to bomb Israel.
The region is threatened with a dangerous escalation due to the Israeli side’s refusal to agree on a truce so far, leading to the intensification of the southern Lebanon front with Israel. This front has been active for over nine months since the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, announced the party’s involvement in the Gaza war by opening the southern Lebanon front as a “support” front for the Hamas movement.
Nasrallah‘s Threats
The Secretary-General of Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, confirmed on Wednesday that the Lebanese front would not stop as long as the aggression against Gaza continues, and that the threat of war would not frighten them. The National News Agency reported Nasrallah‘s words – in a speech today: “The enemy’s persistence in targeting civilians in Lebanon will push the resistance to launch rockets and target new settlements that have not been targeted before.”
Nasrallah added: “We stand for all the people of our region who have been attacked by this occupying entity, which has attacked the region with threats and aggression.” He pointed out that three Arab countries are still directly suffering from this violence: Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
Hezbollah‘s Growing Escalation
In his speech, Nasrallah continued: “Since last October 8, we have entered a new phase in Lebanon and are fighting a different battle. We declared the opening of a Lebanese support front in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.” He indicated that what the resistance in Gaza did on October 7 was their full right, and it is unfortunate that some still criticize the resistance.
He added: “For the first time in its history, the Zionist entity is experiencing its worst moments and days, as admitted by its leaders. For the first time, they talk about collapse and disappearance. For the first time, Israel seems helpless after 10 months of fighting, unable to achieve its goals and masking its failure by committing atrocious massacres against children and women.”
Nasrallah stated: “We call for the solidarity of the nation, the free and the honorable, and the resistance of Gaza. Those who have done nothing so far can still act, as the battles continue. The Palestinian people need to unite in this resistance battle that determines the fate of Palestine and the nation.” He clarified that if hostilities cease, the party negotiating on behalf of Lebanon is the Lebanese state, and all rumors about a ready agreement on the southern border situation are false.
Nasrallah confirmed that the future of the situation in the south will be determined based on the results of this battle. “On our Lebanese front, regardless of the support the Lebanese state provides to our people in the villages and the south, we will work together, and clearly, to rebuild our homes and residences. We will rebuild our front-line villages as they were and even more beautifully.”
Political researcher Tony Habib said: “The current crisis lies in the lack of agreement on a truce or even the American proposal, leading to a clear escalation. Therefore, Hassan Nasrallah‘s threats will continue, and real escalation will occur, as Hezbollah wants confrontation with Israel.” Nasrallah also emphasized this through his veiled statements.
Habib pointed out that the depth of intelligence penetration in Hezbollah’s structure is such that there is talk of Israel’s ability to assassinate Hassan Nasrallah, but Israel will not take such a step, although it threatens just like Nasrallah himself.
Political researcher and professor of political science Mokhtar Ghobashi also affirmed that Nasrallah‘s statements are clear: “Nasrallah, personally, is arrogant towards his forces and prefers to promote himself as the man fighting for the cause and deceiving everyone in this sense. But in the event of a confrontation with Israel, Hezbollah’s defeat would be imminent despite Iranian support.”
Ghobashi added that Nasrallah now wants to prolong the war to impose his control, just like Netanyahu. However, at the same time, the Lebanese army and the Lebanese people reject the war due to difficult economic conditions, which is ultimately a media threat from Nasrallah.
