Tariq Ramadan has been accused by a new raping charge

The lawyers of the Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan in France declared on Thursday that Ramadan has been accused by another charge of raping a woman, after four other similar charges.

Ramadan, a Swiss citizen with 58-year-old, has already been accused in France with raping four other women, while he has denied that.

Ramadan has four children, his grandfather created Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood; he was a professor of contemporary Islamic studies at Oxford University until he obliged to quit the position when rape claims appeared at the movement of Me Too in 2017.

In fact, the latest accusation in about the claimed rape in 2013 and 2014 of Mounia Rabbouj who is one of the first accusing him by sexual attack. Her testimony had obliged Ramadan to confess about the extramarital relations for the first time; however he affirmed that they were consensual.

Otherwise, the prosecutors of Paris had demanded to accused him in this case in 2018 but judges had postponed their decision until now.

The lawyers of Ramadan, Nabila Asmane, Ouadie El Hamamouchi and Philippe Ohayon reported on Thursday in a joint statement given to AFP after that Ramadan was interrogated and accused by the judges: There is no new element in the probe.

They also related that it’s not Tariq Ramadan’s word against that of this woman; it is this woman against her own serious and consistent lies.

However, the lawyer Rabbouj, Eric Morain, declared that the probe has shown how the word of my client was as reliable as it was constant.

Actually, in France being charged does not certainly mean a suspect will end up on court, as the case can remain be released for lack of proof.
