“Terrorism will not stop”: Yemeni cry against international silence towards Houthi crimes

Houthi militias are no different from transnational terrorist organizations and groups that threaten global peace and security.

These facts are confirmed by the practices of the Houthi-led militia in Yemen, which threaten the stability of the region and neighboring countries, as well as international navigation in the Red Sea, according to experts.

The experts stressed that there is no difference between Houthi militias and terrorist organizations such as ISIS or Al-Qaeda, as they all pose a great danger to the countries of the region and the international community, while criticizing the silence of the international community towards these terrorist practices.

Najeeb Ghallab, undersecretary of the Yemeni Ministry of Information, revealed the danger that Iranian Houthi militias pose to the world, not just Yemen.

The Houthis are more dangerous than ISIS and al-Qaeda, they are proxies of a state that is a member of the international community, and this state is based on ideological projects outside the context of the international system and exports terrorism through its proxies.

He added that the international community needs to re-understand Iran and its export of terrorism through proxies it supports in the Arab region, including Houthi militias.
Ghallab warned against the spread of Iranian and Houthi terrorism and sabotage, not only in the Middle East, but also in Europe, America and China; by overlooking the practices of Houthi and Iranian proxies.

The Yemeni official called on the international community to take action to put an end to these practices. Either these proxies strike correctly within international law and international norms, or Iran will be allowed to spread chaos, sabotage and terrorism through its arms.

International silence

Yemeni human rights activists condemned the violations and abuses carried out by Houthi militias inside and outside Yemen, as the international community turns a blind eye.
This has led Houthi militias to persist in their actions, which threaten neighboring countries and the entire Arab region; because of the silence of the international community.

Lawyer Hani Yusuf Ali said the militias do not care about civilians who are killed by their rockets and drones in Yemen and abroad; because they know no one will punish her.

Referring to the world’s silence on the crimes and human rights violations committed by Houthi militias. He called on the international community to quickly designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization in order to stop harming its neighbors and to stop turning its hands off unarmed Yemenis.

Suspicious silence

This suspicious silence to the world regarding the excesses of the militias was confirmed by the director general of the program “MASAM” to clear Houthi mines from Yemeni territory all over the country.

Ousama Algosaibi, the program’s director, said in a press conference, last Thursday that the West overlooks the methods and “catastrophic” methods used by Houthi militias in making booby traps and explosive traps; to cause as many civilian casualties as possible.

Algosaibi said militias are planting landmines in schools, water tanks, health centers and citizens’ homes, which amounts to “war crimes”, noting that these violations were known to the West regardless of their severity for civilians inside Yemen.
