The Houthi terrorist militia detonated a mosque in Shabwa, causing dozens dead and wounded
Three Yemeni soldiers were killed and 13 others wounded late Saturday when the Houthi terrorist group fired a ballistic missile at an army camp in the eastern province of Shabwa, a military and medical source said.
A military source said: “The Houthi terrorist group targeted a mosque in al-Alam camp in Ataq district in Shabwa province with a ballistic missile”.
He said, preferring not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the media, that the attack killed three Yemeni soldiers and injured 13 others.
“The dead and wounded were performing Maghrib prayer at the Camp mosque, where the Shabwa Defense Forces (formerly the Shabwa elite forces) and units from the Yemeni army’s southern Giants Brigades were present”, he said.
A medical source working in Ataq Central Hospital said: “Eight injured people arrived at the hospital, some of them in serious condition”.
“The hospital administration has invited Ataq citizens to donate blood to rescue the wounded”, he said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The Houthi group did not immediately comment on the attack.
On December 28, the Houthi terrorist group targeted the Ataq International Airport in Shabwa with a ballistic missile, a few hours after the Giants (Army) stationed themselves there to take over the protection and supervision of the airport, causing no injuries.
Yemen has been ravaged by a seven-year war that has killed more than 233,000 people and left 80% of the country’s 30 million people dependent on aid and assistance in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, according to the UN.
