The Muslim Brotherhood Officially Endorses Houthi Attacks on Israel: What is their stance after more than 80 yemenis were killed and injured?

The Yemeni party (Islah), also known as the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen, has officially endorsed the Houthi group’s attacks on Tel Aviv in Israel. This marks a new phase of open cooperation, after years of covert coordination.

Despite the devastation these strikes have brought to Yemen, causing destruction to its cities, the leadership of (Islah) and the party’s media outlets blessed the Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv early Friday morning.

Among those leaders is (Islah) party deputy Mohamed Al-Hazmi, who celebrated the news of the attack on Tel Aviv by posting a video of the moment the drone exploded.

Al-Hazmi, the media spokesperson for the “Scholars Authority” led by Sheikh Abdul Majid Al-Zindani, tweeted on the (X) platform: “Explosion in Tel Aviv, and the enemy remains silent so far.”

Mohamed Al-Zindani, the son of (Islah) party guide Abdul Majid Al-Zindani, echoed the Houthi slogans in a shocking stance reminiscent of his father’s call for reconciliation and alliance with the group, following their attacks on Israel and ships in the Red and Arabian Seas.

Mohamed Abdul Majid Al-Zindani, who resides in Turkey, tweeted on the (X) platform along with a video of the drone before it crashed into a building in Tel Aviv: “Allahu Akbar,” according to a report circulated by Yemeni media outlets.

The media outlets affiliated with (Islah) party, in their coverage of the Houthi attack on Tel Aviv, expressed the party’s official support for these attacks on Israel.

Belqees TV, owned by (Islah) party leader Tawakkol Karman, featured reports on the Houthi attack, including explicit praise, with one headline reading: “Qualitative attack targets Tel Aviv… Where are events heading?”

Meanwhile, Al-Mahria TV, owned by (Islah) party media figure Mokhtar Al-Rahbi, amplified the attack in its media coverage, portraying it as a heroic act, which was evident in one of its reports titled “Surprise attack hits Tel Aviv and causes panic.”

Notably, the Muslim Brotherhood officials who celebrated the Houthi attacks disappeared from social media and media outlets after Israel’s strike on Hodeidah, which resulted in the death of more than 80 Yemenis.
