The « planner » to assassinate Kais Saied is under the influence of Tunisian security
Tunisian media confirmed, Sunday, the arrest of a person who planned to assassinate President Kais Saied.
According to the Tunisian newspaper Al-Shorouk, “A lone wolf terrorist who was preparing to assassinate President Kais Saied in a coastal city was arrested.”
The newspaper said a large-scale investigation has been conducted since the suspect was arrested in the past few hours.
On Friday, the Tunisian president confirmed that there are those who are making desperate attempts to assassinate him, saying: “The path of truth is difficult, and I will continue with the same principles under the law.”
He continued: “Governments follow, but the state continues.. We will stand as an impregnable barrier against anyone who tries to strike the state.”
He went on: “There are those who are inviting foreign countries to the country and the presidency.”
A few weeks ago, the Tunisian President responded to calls to expel the Brothers from the government and decided to freeze the activity of the parliament dominated by the group, and to remove the head of government Hichem Mechichi.
