The UAE confirm their support for the “framework agreement” in Sudan guaranteeing a civilian government


UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed relations between the two countries with the Vice President of the Sudanese Sovereign Council.

UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo met here Thursday, the official WAM news agency reported.

During the meeting, they discussed fraternal relations between the UAE and Sudan and opportunities to strengthen cooperation and joint action in various fields to serve the development goals and aspirations of both countries.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE’s support for the framework agreement recently signed between the Sudanese parties to address the current political crisis and make the transitional period a success.

He said the framework agreement establishes steps to ensure the building of a civilian-led government and achieve all that would “stabilize, grow and prosper” Sudan.

For his part, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo expressed his thanks and appreciation for the UAE’s firm and historical positions and initiatives in support of Sudan’s stability.
