the Tunisian state institutions, at the same time the Ennahdha Brotherhood continues its plans to spoil the state’s efforts to prepare the constitution and hold new legislative elections.
Referendum on time
Farouk Bou Askar, the President of the Elections Commission in Tunisia, stressed that there is no need to postpone the referendum on the constitution, which is expected to be held on July 25, after calls in this direction, based on the amendment of the first version put to referendum. Bouaskar said: As a man of law, he does not see a legal reason for postponing the referendum date, especially since the decree issued in the Official Gazette (regarding amending the constitution) is related to the reform of material and formal errors in the draft of the constitution presented on June 30th, adding that this brings us to the point that the Authority is still working on the draft issued on June 30th, and even the errors in formalities and reforms mentioned in the last order are mostly formal issues that do not concern the substance. There are some changes that may have touched on some issues in the first place but went in the direction of improving and removing some ambiguities on some issues.
The Chairman of the elections Authority has allowed the participants in the referendum campaign the possibility of reviewing their positions, clarifying that this is not about those who expressed their position “yes” or “no”, but even those who did not express their position, or who are those who are withdrawn, or are, and are taking place in the voting in Tunisia during the current 3243 days, and the current 32244 days, in the referendum The final official results of the referendum are expected to be announced in August after each stage of appeals has been completed.
