Tunisian president issues naming of prime minister and members
Tunisian President Kais Saied said in a statement on Monday that he has approved a new government chosen by Prime Minister Najla Bouden.
The Tunisian presidency said on its Facebook page, “The President of the Republic issues an order naming the head of government and its members.”
Tunisia’s new government was sworn in by President Kais Saied at the Carthage Palace.
Commenting on the formation of the new government, Prime Minister Najla Bouden said: “We seek to reprioritize and restore citizen confidence,” she said. “We seek to restore citizen confidence in government work.”
Boden said her government seeks to “restore the international community’s trust in the Tunisian state,” considering “competence and experience as the basis for achieving the government’s goals.”
She continued: “We seek to improve living conditions for citizens and open the field of investment.”
Othman Jerandi retained the Tunisian foreign ministry post in the new cabinet, while Taoufik Charfeddine was appointed interior minister and Emad Mamych was selected as defense minister.
