UAE condemns mosque bombing in Kabul: “We reject violence and terrorism”

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in the Afghan capital of Kabul, killing and injuring dozens of worshippers.

“The UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement.

The United Arab Emirates also stressed its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilizing security and stability and contrary to humanitarian values and principles.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the friendly Afghan people, the families and relatives of the victims of this heinous crime, and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.

Afghan officials said a powerful explosion hit a mosque in west Kabul during Friday prayers, killing at least 50 people and injuring 15.

The blast hit the Khalifa Sahib mosque in western Kabul, said Basem Allah Habib, deputy spokesman for the Interior Ministry.
