UAE Defeats Coronavirus, Cancels All Restrictions and Precautionary Measures
The announcement by the United Arab Emirates to lift all restrictions and precautionary measures related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) reflects the major steps taken by the state to control and then eradicate this pandemic. Dr. Saif Al-Dhaheri, official spokesman for the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management, said that the decision will be effective as of Monday.
Epidemic control
The United Arab Emirates has passed a major international test and the epidemic is the first of its kind in recent decades. It has completely eradicated the epidemic and has begun new adaptation measures through the voluntary wearing of masks in all open and closed facilities, including places of worship and mosques, with the exception of health facilities and centers for persons with disabilities, which will be mandatory, according to the London-based newspaper Middle East.
Al-Dhaheri said that organizers of sports events can request initial tests or vaccination certificates according to the type of activity or its importance, adding, in September, we announced several measures to ease restrictions related to the coronavirus, adding, “Today we announce the second stage of easing restrictions, after studying the epidemiological situation in the country, with monitoring the occupancy rates in hospitals and intensive care of cases of the virus,” noting that the health facilities concerned with laboratory testing and treatment, in addition to the five-day isolation period for those infected with the coronavirus.
Preventive measure
In the same context, Al-Dhaheri said: “In the interest of the health and safety of all, and in support of the efforts of all concerned parties, the process of educating the society about the risks of the Coronavirus in particular, and seasonal influenza in general, will continue, with regard to daily cases, to provide the updated data on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Federal Center for Competition and Statistics, and the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management, ” adding that the procedures are subject to updates and changes according to the latest developments related to the outbreak of the disease, adding that the UAE government has made unremitting efforts in the past period to contain the coronavirus pandemic;
This has led to an increase in awareness of how to deal with epidemics and diseases, he noted, “The health sector, in coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities, has intensified its efforts to deal with the health crisis, based on its belief that the health of society is the top priority of good leadership.” He explained that the health sector will continue to monitor the situation and implement active surveillance in all regions of the country.
