UAE people stand united behind wise leadership and historic decisions
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidency Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan as his vice president, along with UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, issued four Emiri decrees that included the appointment of Sheikh Khalid Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as crown prince in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the reformation of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi under his chairmanship.
Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan were appointed as Deputy Governors of Abu Dhabi.
Promoting stability and prosperity
These decisions are of particular significance as they coincide with the approaching of the first anniversary of the inauguration of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the United Arab Emirates on May 14.

UAE political analyst Mohammed Taqi said these appointments are a fundamental right of the president based on “Sheikh Mohamed’s view of individuals best suited for the national interest.” He added that they reflect the distinguished relationship between the president and the people of the UAE, which is “based on a tribal social contract,” that is, respect for customs and cultural heritage.
