UAE President Sheikh Mohamed expresses condolences after death of Japan’s Shinzo Abe


UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan offered his condolences over the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.

Japan on Friday announced the death of Shinzō Abe after he was shot during an election rally in the western city of Nara.

In a statement, the UAE president said: “It is with great sadness that we have received the news of the death of our dear friend Shinzō Abe, who was known for his dedication and devotion to his homeland Japan, following the treacherous attack that targeted his life”.

He added: “We extend our sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the friendly people of Japan and to the family of the deceased, in their loss.. We express our solidarity with them in these difficult circumstances”.

He continued: “Shinzō Abe was a sincere friend of the UAE who played an active role in consolidating the two countries’ relations, which witnessed unprecedented development and prosperity at all levels”.

“Shinzō Abe has contributed to strengthening the historical relations between the UAE and Japan”, Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said. “My sincere condolences to his family and the friendly Japanese people”.

“The late Shinzō Abe worked to strengthen his country’s role in supporting regional and global peace and stability”, he said.

He continued: “Condemning this cowardly attack that took his life.. We condemn all forms and manifestations of violence.. We in the UAE will not forget his sincere efforts in strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their peoples”.
