UAE unconditionally supports Sudan framework agreement
In a visit to the Republic of Sudan, UAE Minister of State Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan met with General Abdul Fattah Al Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed fraternal relations and opportunities to strengthen cooperation and joint action in various fields to serve the development goals and aspirations of both countries.
The UAE minister affirmed his country’s support for the framework agreement recently signed between the Sudanese parties to address the current political crisis and to make the transitional period a success, which establishes steps to ensure the building of a civilian-led government.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan referred to the developments and the current political process in the country in light of the Framework Agreement. He confirmed the commitment of the military institution to exit the political process in preparation for the formation of a civilian government leading to the completion of the transitional period leading up to elections.
