UAE’s efforts and support for human rights locally and internationally
The UAE is a leading human rights country, and its day-to-day efforts demonstrate how the UAE leads the world in the field of human rights and its importance in maintaining peace and security around the world.
Since its founding, the UAE has not only supported human rights but also solidified its commitment to an eternal approach through the “50 Principles” document. The UAE considers supporting humanity the secret behind the success of many achievements.
The UAE is also proceeding under the leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who raised the slogan “Human beings are the goal” in protecting and supporting human rights locally and globally.
UAE Initiatives and Culture of Tolerance
The most important of these initiatives are those for a culture of tolerance, support of human rights, and promotion of human fraternity, which makes humanity the homeland of the UAE and preserves religious, cultural, and social privacy for its citizens, visitors, and residents.
Humanity was embodied in the UAE, which charted the UAE’s strategic course over the next 50 years. It affirmed that “the value system in the UAE will remain based on openness, tolerance, respect for cultures, and the consolidation of human brotherhood.
The UAE faces lies and slander from time to time on social networking sites that are carried out by suspicious entities who seek to unfairly undermine the country’s human rights achievements.
The UAE’s pioneering experience in the promotion of human rights will be shared with the world within days, with the submission of the UAE’s special official report, which it will officially submit at the 43rd session of the Universal Periodic Review of the UN Human Rights Council in May, which is presented every four years.
Cop 28
This coincides with the UAE’s hosting at the end of this year of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which is aimed at addressing climate change, which threatens the full and effective enjoyment of a variety of human rights, including the right to life, and the right to water and sanitation.
“The UAE is also continuing its efforts to evacuate international nationals from Sudan, in a new humanitarian milestone in the country’s ongoing drive to contain the Sudanese crisis.”
The UAE also pledged $50 million in emergency humanitarian aid to Sudan, stressing that “there is no military victory” there and warning that civilians are paying the price.
Since its establishment, the UAE has prioritized the values of respect for human rights, drawing on its cultural heritage, its constitution that guarantees civil liberties for all, and its legislative system that promotes the principles of justice, equality and tolerance, respect for rights, and support for humanitarian and relief work in line with the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
